Brian Rabin

is a Seasoned Photographer and lead instructor and sales person at Mike’s Camera in Boulder Colorado.

​

Brian is well known for his enthusiastic and passionate instruction style, and he brings over 25 years of experience in various photographic
disciplines including:

​

Documentary Photography, Events, Portraiture, Macro and Street photography.

​

His work has appeared in one-man shows, group exhibits and has been published in national and local magazines.

Brian holds a B.A. in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University as well as a B.A. in Management Information Systems from The University of South Florida. He is also a graduate of The New England School of Photography (NESOP) where he specialized in Classical Portraiture and Experimental Color Procedures. The combination of the two photographic disciplines reflects Brian’s outlook on life and his personal style of balancing the traditional point of view with a splash of something new, creative or experimental.

For Brian, photography is a vehicle to explore life.

 

He can often be heard saying, "I hope my students learn as much about photography as they teach me about people, life and photography.”

Brian began working in the field of photography while still in high school where he completed an independent study program that included work for a commercial photographer as well as an independent street photography study that resulted in his first one man show.

​

Between his graduation from photography school and his second bachelor’s degree, he worked for ten years as a professional photographer in New Jersey, specializing in Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and Portraiture.

​

In 2001, Brian moved to Colorado and after a few years detour working in the tech sector, he returned to his first love, photography, and began working at Boulder’s renowned photo store, Mike’s Camera.

​

Since 2004, hundreds of Boulderites have benefited from Brian’s knowledge, both at the store when selecting equipment, and as photographers in the field. Many regard Brian as a friend and mentor after taking one of his classes.

​

In addition to managing corporate sales at Mike’s Camera, Brian also takes on a limited number of clients for portraits, and personal and business documentary projects.
